A Fountain of Life

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life.” – Proverbs 10:11

Words That Bring Life

Water is essential for life—it refreshes, restores, and sustains. In the same way, our words have the power to bring life to those around us. When we speak words of truth, encouragement, and faith, we become a fountain of life, pouring out God’s love and wisdom into a thirsty world.

The Power of Righteous Speech

The words of the righteous are not just empty sounds; they carry the power of God’s truth. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” When we choose words that align with Scripture, we build up instead of tearing down. Our speech can bring healing to the brokenhearted, strength to the weary, and hope to the discouraged.

Keeping the Fountain Pure

A fountain that is tainted cannot refresh those who drink from it. Likewise, our words must flow from a heart that is pure before God. Jesus said in Luke 6:45, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” If we desire our speech to be a source of life, we must first allow God to fill our hearts with His Spirit, cleansing us of bitterness, anger, and negativity.
