“[God] who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” 2 Timothy 1:9 NKJV

Your calling is not something you earn—it is something you receive.

Before you ever took your first breath, God had already called you—not because of your accomplishments, qualifications, or efforts, but because of His own purpose and grace. This means your life is anchored in something far more secure than human approval or worldly success. It is anchored in the eternal love and plan of God.

This verse reminds us that God's calling is holy—set apart. It is a divine invitation to live a life that reflects His heart, His character, and His mission. You weren’t just saved to go to heaven; you were saved to walk in purpose here on earth, empowered by the same grace that saved you.

You don’t have to have it all together to walk in your calling. Grace fills the gap. His strength is made perfect in your weakness, and His purpose shines brightest in surrendered vessels. When you respond to His call, you step into the very reason you were created.

“[God] who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” 2 Timothy 1:9 NKJV
